Mobile DJ Trade Tips - Issue 46 - Countdown to BPM 2012

BPM 2012 & Looking Back at BPM 2011

BPM 2012, to be held on the 6th - 8th October at the NEC Birmingham, is fast approaching. Who better to tell you more about it than one of the organisers...

“We set up BPM in 2007 as there was a real need for a dedicated national exhibition for DJs. Over the last five years the show has grown beyond our wildest expectations.

BPM is now the world’s biggest event for DJs. As well as a huge exhibition area featuring all the latest DJ sound and lighting toys, we’ve got an unrivalled educational programme, a fantastic line-up of performers and offer a unique networking opportunity … where else can you meet with 7000 fellow DJs from 16 different countries?

2012 is set to be our biggest and best year so far … see you there!”

I could write a book on why I wouldn't miss the only dedicated show to DJs in the UK, but here's what some of last years attendees had to say....

"I first went to BPM 3 years ago mainly to visit AMPdj as they were who really got my business kicked off and what I discovered was a jaw dropping experience, it was like stepping into the future. I have not missed a BPM show since and I have no intentions of missing any in the future.

If you can drag yourself away from the many stands full of all the latest DJ equipment and displays, they have numerous seminars for those of us who strive to be the best at what we do and if all that isn’t enough, they have an amazing party after.

I started off as a part time DJ many years ago but since visiting the BPM show and with the help of AMPdj, we have since grown into a very successful DJ service. Once you have seen this amazing show, I am confident that you will just keep going back year after year.

Apart from that, it’s worth going back every year just for my annual hug from Sandy at AMPdj. Ha!"

"Last year I went to BPM to look at all the sparkly new toys that I could purchase for my show and I certainly wasn't disappointed! However what really surprised me was the wealth of knowledge that was also on offer… I had some fantastic conversations regarding DJ kit from all the retailers plus great advice on how to improve my business from some of the UK's most proactive and inspirational DJs (including of course Sandy on the AMPdj stand).

Before I booked my BPM tickets I forecasted I'd be going to a big DJ super store shopping trip but I came away with so much more including invaluable contacts within the industry and some fantastic new friends in the DJ business. I only have one regret - I didn't check out any of the seminars last year - a mistake I won't be making this year!"

“AMPdj will once again be exhibiting at BPM. It’s a great opportunity for us to meet-up with DJs from around the country and we’ll even have a small exclusive gift for the first 500 AMPdj members who visit our stand.

You’ll find us in the education/seminar area (near the back) on stand B47 and we look forward to seeing you there. DJ Hank is also making an appearance and will be available for pictures and a chat!”

"It was really great to meet Sandy and Paul (and DJ Hank) at BPM last year; a great day was had.

There was a good mix of 'guys' from the world of DJing - from the lads at CD Pool, and the PRS licensing people, various hardware suppliers and also a chance to see other djs "working" on their decks!"

Karl,
SilverSurf Entertainments

I'll be there for all three days, so if you get chance to drop in, do come and say hello!
